Written by the film director, the screenplay starts in the winter of 1915 in an asylum in the South of France to which Camille Claudel was sent by her family, where she will never sculpt again, and where she is waiting for the visit of her brother Paul. The film will be an account of her life as a recluse.

Produced by Jean Bréhat, Rachid Bouchareb, and Muriel Merlin for 3B Productions, Camille Claudel will be co-produced by Arte France Cinéma (article), the CRRAV, and Le Fresnoy. It already benefits from pre-sales by Canal + and Ciné +, support from French regions Paca and Nord-Pas de Calais, and participation from Contact Films (Benelux) and Mantarraya Films (Mexico). Filming will take place in March and April. ARP Sélection will distribute the film to French cinemas.
