Jonas Carpignano

Jonas Caprignano's 's short films have been screened at film festivals around the world, starting with A Chjàna, which won the Controcampo award for Best Short Film at the 68th Venice Film Festival in 2011 and received a Special Mention at the Silver Ribbon Awards. His latest short film, A Ciambra, featured in the Official Selection of the 53rd Critics' Week at Cannes, where it won the Discovery Award. Carpignano returned to the Critics' Week this year, with his debut feature film, Mediterranea. In 2012, he was named one of the top 25 new faces in independent film by Filmmaker Magazine.
