synopsis

The break-up of a peasant family through the eyes of an 11-year old child. The mother lives in her room as a recluse. The older brother drinks heavily. His father, dominated by the grandmother, is a powerless witness to the destruction of his family. The boy, although comforted a little by the Moroccan maid and the presence of his cat, decides to put an end to the family chaos.
Adaptation of novel "The Last of the Crazy People" by Timothy Findley.
