synopsis

The story of the film The Candidate takes place during two months of a campaign prior to non-specific presidential elections in one specific country. The author of the journal entries has no idea who he is recording the wiretaps for and his enthusiasm for the interesting assignment, in which he monitors a bishop, a crazy advertising agency owner and an indistinct presidential candidate with a distinct name and a rich family history, soon turns to disgust and confusion.
