(Un Certain Regard in Cannes in 2022). Produced by Maneki Films (France), Snowglobe (Denmark) and Still Vivid (Iceland), the film — which will be shooting in the fall —  will follow the life of a family which, at the turn of the 19th century, transforms its house into a raft and goes looking for a new place to live.

Arte France Cinéma will also support Résurrection, the 3rd feature film from Chinese director Bi Gan, who was very well received in Locarno in 2015 with Kaili Blues (winner of the award for Best Emerging Director) and in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard in 2018 with Long Day's Journey Into Night [+lee también:

. The script centres on a woman who is thrown into a post apocalyptic future where she will attempt to repair a part-robot, part-human man… The production of the film — set to begin filming imminently — is handled by CG Cinéma (France) and Dangmai Films (China), Les Films du Losange taking care of international sales.

(Critics’ Week in Cannes in 2021). The film will paint the portrait of Gabrielle (who will be played by Léa Drucker). She has no children. She is head of a surgical department in Paris. She loves her husband. She is tired of her lover. Her mother’s Alzheimer is getting worse. Public hospitals are in crisis. Her most cherished friend is struggling. The novelist who has come to watch her work to research a book is taking more and more space in her life. Nothing is easy, but Gabrielle is not the type to let things get her down. Gabrielle has decided to be happy… Produced by Les Films Pelléas, the feature film will begin filming soon in France and in Japan, and will be sold internationally by Be For Films.

Two other sophomore feature films are among the happy few selected by Arte France Cinéma: Un anno di scuola by Italian director Laura Samani (Critics’ Week in Cannes in 2021 with Small Body [+lee también:
