The Berlinale Talent Campus is a sidebar event to the main Berlin International Film Festival. The Campus is organised in co-operation with the Berlin-Brandenburg Film Board UK Film Council, MEDIA Promotion and House of World Cultures.
The Talent Campus offers a platform for young filmmakers to meet and exchange views and ideas with colleagues from all over the world, with events and workshops covering all aspects of the filmmaking process, from writing and creative financing, to editing and marketing.
In the interview young filmmakers talk about their impressions on the workshops they attended during the 2003 talent campus.
Italian director Antonio Morabito, after attending the seminar about the general relations between directors and producers, explains the difficult situation for film distribution in Italy. He adds that he hopes to find a European distributor interested in his first feature film Cecilia, planned to be released in Italy.
Latvian producer Laura Bursa, is instead interested in finding co-producers and sales agents for the children feature films and documentaries produced by her company. Spanish director Paco Paz, believes in fact that the co-production is the best possibility that can help Cinema.
Greek director Christina Hadjicharalambous, at the end in the interview sends a personal message to the producers, asking them to consider not only personal tastes, but to be more open minded and consider what the audience demands.
