Berlinale in good shape at almost 60
Next year’s 60th Berlin International Film Festival will be held from February 11-21, 2010.
The festival of golden and silver bears is not ready to bow out, following the example of its director Dieter Kosslick, whose mandate lasts until 2013.
The 59th edition – which closed two weeks ago – was immensely successful: the 383 films shown at the 1,238 screenings attracted 20,000 accredited festival visitors from 136 different countries. Moreover, 270,000 tickets were sold – a new attendance record for Berlin audiences.
