, in competition at the Cannes Film Festival. Based on the eponymous novel by Roberto Saviano (whom which it has taken five episodes of the Camorra of contemporary Italy), the film, produced by Fandango with RAI Cinema and Sky, is being released by 01 Distribution.

They are also distributing Gli ultimi della classe by Luca Biglione, the romantic comedy (produced by Devon Cinematografica in collaboration with Dania Film, Surf Film and RAI Cinema) that follows in the footsteps of the recent successful aimed at adolescents, beginning with Night Before Exams [+see also:

, and also features one of the stars of the latter film, Andrea De Rosa.

Alessandro Valori, who after his socially conscious debut Radio West has changed register and in his new Chi nasce tondo… (the story of two cousins looking for their grandmother, who has escaped from her nursing home after having emptied its safe) pays tribute to the traditional “commedia all’italiana”. The film stars Valerio Mastandrea and Raffaele Vannoli, and co-stars Sandra Milo and Tiberio Murgia (Big Deal on Madonna Street). Produced by Digital Desk in collaboration with RAI Cinema, it is distributed by Istituto Luce.

Halfway between comedy and thriller (with existential overtones), Martin McDonagh’s In Bruges [+see also:

is being released by Mikado. The UK/Belgian film will come out on 100 screens, counting as it is on the medieval charm of the location and above all on an impressive cast that includes Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes.

Another co-production – between the UK, France and the US – is Definitely, Maybe by Adam Brooks (out through Universal), starring Ryan Reynolds and young actress Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine).
