Written by Jean-Christophe Meurisse in collaboration with Amélie Philippe, the story follows forty-something Uzès who finds himself arrested by the police. The French authorities are convinced that he’s actually Paul Bernardin, a man wanted for murdering his wife and three children several years earlier. As the man protests his innocence, two amateur detectives Léa and Christine lead their own, parallel enquiry. They know every little detail about the case and they’re convinced that Uzès is the family murderer in question. Meanwhile, in Argentina, a forty-something Frenchman with a mysterious past is celebrating his marriage to a beautiful, young bride...

Produced by Marine Bergère and Romain Daubeach on behalf of Mamma Roman, and by Antoine Blesson and Nicolas Descalles for Kick'n Rush, Les Pistolets en plastique has been ore-purchased by Canal+, Canal+ International and Ciné+. Likewise supported by a CNC advance on receipts and by the Ile-de-France and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regions, as well as enjoying backing from the SOFICA companies La Banque Postale Image, Indéfilms and Cinémage, the feature film will continue shooting until 3 August in Ile-de-France, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and in Corsica, with Javier Ruiz Gomez heading up photography. Distribution in French cinemas will fall to Bac Films, with international sales steered by Charades.
