As stated by the team behind it, The Girls Are Alright is a summertime tale about five actresses living together as they rehearse for a stage play in a country house, cut off from the rest of the world. It’s the story of a spell, complete with princesses, toads, rivers, letters and even a scatterbrained prince. It stars Bárbara Lennie, Irene Escolar, Itziar Manero, Helena Ezquerro and Arana herself.

The Girls Are Alright is a film about friendship and reconciliation between women. Making it was an act of boldness, disobedience and bravery,” explains the first-time director. “I shot this feature to portray women actresses whom I love, to bring together our experiences and wisdom, and to turn our life lessons into our own legacy,” she sums up.

The Girls Are Alright is a production by Los Ilusos Films, the company run by Jonás Trueba and Javier Lafuente. Its international sales are managed by Bendita Film Sales.
