The story of The Nurse begins early one morning in March 2015, when the Danish police receive a call from a nurse at the Nykøbing Falster Hospital. She suspects her close colleague of deliberately killing patients and fears that it has just happened again. Soon, a murder case like no other in Danish legal history starts to unfold. Several co-workers are now telling the police that they also suspect the nurse has poisoned patients, and some even state that they have been walking around with this suspicion for a number of years. But why hasn't anyone responded? And where is the evidence?

The Nurse recounts the true story of Danish nurse Christina Aistrup Hansen and the book of the same name, written by Kristian Corfixen. Aistrup Hansen was sentenced to 12 years for four counts of attempted murder in 2017. Here, she will be portrayed by Josephine Park (Baby Fever). The other main cast members are the up-and-coming Fanny Louise Bernth (It’s So Charming), Peter Zandersen, Amalie Lindegård (Baby Fever) and Dick Kaysø (The Crumbs). The technical crew includes composer Jeppe Kaas and DoP Tommy Wildner.

The Nurse was produced by Nina Leidersdorff and Morten Kjems Hytten Juhl for Danish outfit SAM Productions. Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen served as the executive producer. The series will be released on Netflix on 27 April.
