film profile], filmed last autumn and due to be released in Italian cinemas by Lucky Red. The film – shot in Trentino thanks to the support of the Trentino Film Commission and the local APT – focuses on extreme sports, weaving action cam shots with the thriller, horror and action genres, providing the viewer with a unique sensorial experience. Some of the film's scenes were also shot in Vallagarina, in Forte Pozzacchio in the municipality of Trambileno. Ride was directed by Jacopo Rondinelli and written by Marco Sani, Fabio Guaglione and Fabio Resinaro (directors of Mine [+see also:

film profile]) who also acted as the film’s artistic supervisors and co-producers. The film features two acrobatic riders involved in a downhill race with some unexpected twists and turns. Max (Lorenzo Richelmy) and Kyle (Ludovic Hughes) accept an invitation from a mysterious organisation giving away $250,000 to participate in a competition, but the duo will find out about the race’s disturbing rules a moment too late. What the two riders endure, and film live on their cameras, moment by moment, soon turns into an extreme race for survival.

The film, shot with a GoPro, holds the record for the most cameras used per scene in the history of cinema. Both actors were equipped with three cameras: one on their chest, one behind their shoulders and one on their helmet. Additional cameras were mounted on their bikes to film the action and, on top of all this, numerous cameras were also placed and hidden in the local surroundings. The result is an action cam feel that evolves into a pure adrenaline thriller.

Ride is also a "green" movie, with the film adopting the "T-Green Film" guidelines during production: a set of guidelines for all film production stages, with the aim of adopting a sustainable environmental and economic approach. Trentino Film Commission identifies itself as the first Italian region to have introduced a Film Fund that assigns additional funding to "green" productions through the external APPA di Trento agency (the Provincial Agency for Environmental Protection), which is tasked with monitoring various production phases and compliance.
