The winners of the 2018 CineLink Industry Days

The CineLink Industry Days, the Sarajevo Film Festival’s industry section, which ran from 11-16 August, has handed out its awards. The CineLink Co-Production Market jury, comprising Annamaria Lodato, Behrooz Hashemian, Boban JevtićČedomir KolarDanijel HočevarGeorges Goldenstern and Sehad Čekić, decided to award debutant filmmaker-screenwriter Juraj Lerotić with the €20,000 Eurimages Co-production Development Award for his project Safe Place [+see also:

The project is being produced by Boris T Matić, of Croatian production company Propeler Film, in co-production with Slovenia’s Staragara, and follows Damir, who’s trying to take his own life while his family wants to save him. Everything happens over a period of just 24 hours.

The Arte International Relations Award, worth €6,000, went to Pjer Žalica’s upcoming project May Labour Day [+see also:

, which tells a story that aims to uncover the truth about a crime that took place 23 years ago, during the war. It is worth mentioning that five former Yugoslav countries and France have boarded production of this project.

The Film Center Montenegro Award, worth €10,000, was bestowed upon the Albanian-Greek project A Cup of Coffee and New Shoes On [+see also:

by second-time writer-director Gentian Koçi (Daybreak [+see also:

). Produced by the director and Blerina Hankollari, the film follows two inseparable deaf-mute identical twin brothers in their forties who discover that they will go blind due to a genetic disease.

Finally, the EAVE Scholarship went to the project Fiume o morte! by Igor Bezinović, produced by Tibor KeserVanja Jambrović and Fabrizio Polpettini, which follows famous Italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio, who, after World War I, conquered and declared an independent micro-state in the Croatian city of Fiume.
