MIDPOINT to present nine Feature Launch projects at Karlovy Vary
Director Jan P Matuszynski, who has been selected with his project Leave No Traces

As part of a new initiative launched by MIDPOINT and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, nine projects currently in development within the Feature Launch programme will be presented at the event Works in Development - Feature Launch. The full list of featured projects can be seen below.

Already carefully refined and developed during the previous two programme workshops, at the Trieste Film Festival in January, and in Belgrade in May, the nine projects are set to arrive in Karlovy Vary, primed and ready for the co-production process.

On 2 July, teams of writers, directors and producers will have up to seven minutes to present each project and its accompanying visuals, which will then be followed by one-to-one meetings with potential co-producers.

On 3 July, winning projects will receive the connecting cottbus Award (and the chance to pitch at Cottbus 2018), the Rotterdam Lab Award (providing one producer with the opportunity to take part in IFFR’s training programme), and the Art Department Masterclass Award (with the winning team going on to work with up-and-coming European art directors on the production design of their project, during a practical assignment workshop set to take place this autumn).

In completion of this one-year programme and emerging filmmakers’ platform, all Feature Launch 2018 producers will be invited to attend the Trieste Film Festival's co-production market, When East Meets West, where they will have the chance to follow up with potential artistic and financing partners at the Feature Launch Spotlight event in January 2019.

Meanwhile, MIDPOINT's Feature Launch 2019 call for entries opened on 11 May, with the deadline set for 21 September. For further details, please follow this link
