Filming of the hotly-anticipated fourth season of Gomorrah will commence in mid-April, following the shocking third season finale, aired in December 2017, which saw the main protagonist, iconic Ciro Di Marzio (played by Marco D'Amore) die. by Cosimo Gomez, will be returning to the set of the series created by Roberto Saviano as a director instead of an actor.

(two nominations at the Nastri d'Argento) as well as a theatrical director (American Buffalo), D'Amore will be accompanied by Francesca Comencini, who is entrusted with the artistic supervision of the fourth season, and Claudio Cupellini, both of whom have been confirmed as directors. Enrico Rosati will also be working with him, after previously working as an assistant director of the first three seasons and the director of Gomorrah VR - We Own the Streets, in competition at the 2017 Venice Film Festival in the VR section, as will Ciro Visco, assistant director of the first three seasons.

After the death of Ciro, Genny (Salvatore Esposito) and Patrizia (Cristiana Dell'Anna) will have to establish a new balance in the system, while Enzo (Arturo Muselli) and Valerio (Loris De Luna) have secured the position of their clan in the centre of Naples. New threats and ruthless enemies await the protagonists: Genny will have to make some difficult decisions to protect his family.

Produced by Sky, Cattleya and Fandango in collaboration with Beta Film, the fourth season of Gomorrah will include 12 episodes written by Leonardo Fasoli, Maddalena Ravagli, Enrico Audenino and Monica Zapelli. Shooting will take placein Naples, Bologna and London. Ivan Casalgrandi and Valerio Azzali are in charge of photography.

Gomorrah 4 will be broadcast in Italy in spring 2019 on Sky Atlantic. The first three seasons have been sold in over 190 territories.
