Amodeo stated that it will be a feel-good movie, with splashes of comedy and drama, in the same vein as the films by US director Alexander Payne. The plot will be simple but with outlandish and surreal undertones. The movie follows 63-year-old Bernardo, an architect and professor at an Argentinian university who refuses to fulfil the dying wish of his late Spanish wife, as he considers it the result of a last-minute bout of delirium: she wanted her ashes to be scattered on the Costa del Sol, where she was born and where she used to go and visit her sister for one month every year.

But after a paranoia-riddled period of mourning, he receives the news that a bunch of delinquents have desecrated his wife’s grave. He enters a state of shock and tries to commit suicide with a toy gun, but he then resolves to catch a plane and fulfil the dying wish of his late spouse. “It’s a story about one’s twilight years, revolving around an austere and traditional Argentinian professor who, very reluctantly, ends up dragging up the past,” Amodeo sums up.

Me, Myself and My Dead Wife, whose cast is topped off by Manolo Solo, Joaquín Núñez, Belén Ponce de León and Enrico Vecchi, is a co-production between AZ Films (Argentina) and Películas Grupo Tranquilo SL (Spain). It will be distributed across America by Buena Vista International, while its international sales will be handled by Latido Films, and both Movistar Plus+ and Canal Sur Televisión are involved in the production.
