Among the gathering’s various events, there was a “Set the Trend” conference that focused on new business models for the promotion of theatrical and digital releases. New marketing strategies were among the topics discussed by the guests from various European countries and their American counterparts Russ Collins (Art House Convergence) and Darcy Heusel (Neon).

The event also presented various tools – ACM DistributionEclairPlayEye on Films – which could help bring about a more efficient distribution of films. A Europa Showcase presentation, a programme of ten European films available for theatrical distribution in the United States, was part of the conference programme, as was the panel “Sexual Harassment in the Business: What Can Be Done?”, which discussed the possibility of a future generation of sales agents with less likelihood of becoming victims of sexual harassment. Cinando Subtitles, an online tool intended to promote and share subtitles for European films, was also presented at the event.

Europa International was founded in 2011 with the specific purpose of tackling the challenges of the current film distribution market, particularly the transition to the digital world and the emergence of new media and business models.
