by Rick Ostermann, a director who has already been selected for Orizzonti once before, with his debut piece WolfskinderLos versos del olvido is instead a story about desaparecido prisoners set in Chile but written by an Iranian director, Alireza Khatami, and based on a project developed in three different international workshops. The film is co-produced by France, Germany, the Netherlands and Chile. There’s also an Icelandic film in the mix, co-produced by Denmark, Poland and Germany, Under the Tree by Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurðsson, "a paradoxical comedy lanced with nordic humour", says Barbera. One debut piece to watch out for, according to the director of the festival, is Australian film West of Sunshine by Jason Raftopoulos, while a film added by Barbera into the selection just in the nick of time is La nuit où j'ai nagé by French director Damien Manivel (awarded at Locarno) and Japanese director Kohei Igarashi: no words just images, 24 hours in the life of a child.

The films selected in the Orizzonti section:
