The San Sebastián International Film Festival has started to reveal the programme for its 65th edition, which will take place in this magnificent Basque city from 22 to 30 September. 13 titles have already been announced, including those that will battle it out for the prize of €50,000 (for the director and distributor in Spain) in the New Directors section: six of these are by European directors and the rest are from Latin America and Asia; all the titles are first or second works.

Among the films announced is Spanish film Alberto García-Alix. La línea de la sombra [+see also:

(Chile/Spain/Argentina) by Chilean director Marialy Rivas (Joven & Alocada, awarded at Sundance), which participated in Cine en Construcción 28, and is being produced by Juan de Dios, Pablo Larraín and Fernanda del Nido.

Also making an appearance at San Sebastián all the way from Latin America are Argentinian director Silvia Schnicer Schlieman and Spaniard Ulises Porra Guardiola, the directors of Argentinian production Tigre, and Laura Mora with Matar a Jesús (co-produced by Colombia and Argentina). And from Asia there’s Lai Kuo-An with A Fish Out of Water (Taiwan), Wang Feifei with From Where We’ve Fallen (China), Daniel Palacio with Underground (Philippines) and Lim Tae-Gue with The Seeds of Violence (South Korea).
