It is these two magnificent outsiders that have picked up the most nominations, announced today, for the 60th David di Donatello Awards, the Italian film awards that will be presented on 18 April in Rome, during a ceremony that will be broadcast live for the first time on Sky. Gabriele Mainetti’s rousing debut has been nominated for Best New Director, Best Screenplay, Best Producer, Best Actress (Ilenia Pastorelli), Best Actor (Claudio Santamaria), Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Score, Best Set Designer, Best Costumes, Best Make-up, Best Hair Design, Best Editing, Best Sound and Best Digital Effects. The last film by recently departed Claudio Caligari has, on the other hand, been nominated for Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Producer, Best Actor (both Alessandro Borghi and Luca Marinelli), Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Score, Best Original Song, Best Set Designer, as well as Best Costumes, Best Make-up, Best Hair Design, Best Sound and the David Giovani Award.
