FESTIVALS Poland

A rich 15th edition at New Horizons

by

- 11 days and 340 films from 54 countries, 22 of which are fresh from Cannes, are brought together for the biggest festival in Poland, which kicks off this Thursday in Wroclaw

The Brand New Testament by Jaco van Dormael

"Although this will be the 15th edition, marking a special anniversary of the festival, we’re not doing anything special to celebrate it. What has always been most important for us is the content, standard and quality of the programme. We screen films which perhaps travel in somewhat elitist circles, but we’re aware that we have a lot of influence over young people and that there are already three generations of youngsters who have, in a certain way, grown up with and been shaped by our festival. That’s what matters," emphasised Roman Gutek, managing director of the T-Mobile New Horizons Festival (being held from 23 July to 2 August 2015).
