Written by Guillaume Grosse, the story revolves around Philippe, a former drug dealer who is released from prison and finds out that his father, Jean-Jacques, is sick and crippled by debt. Having been a farmer for generations, Jean-Jacques cannot bring himself to accept the idea of selling his land. Seeking to win back the respect of his loved ones, Philippe decides to take over his father’s business during his convalescence. But he swiftly realises that he will never be able to earn enough money to stop the shed from being repossessed and succeed in saving the family farm. So he decides to turn to one of the region’s biggest drug dealers and suggest that he use the shed as a cover: a single delivery with the aim of wiping out his father’s debts in one fell swoop...

Produced by Fred Prémel and Christophe Bouffil for Marseilles-based outfit Tita Productions, Toril is co-produced by Mille et Une Films, Mezzanine Films and Les Productions Balthazar. Having been backed by the CNC’s advance on receipts, the Paca (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), Languedoc-Roussillon and Lower Normandy regions, the Gan Foundation for Cinema, the West Provence fund, the Manon and Cofinova Soficas, and Procirep (the Film and Television Producers’ Society), the film will have a five-week shoot, taking place in Nîmes, Marseilles, Cavaillon and Chateaurenard. For the record, the project was also one of those featured at the Ateliers d'Angers. It is scheduled to be ready for release in October, with distribution in France to be handled by La Belle Company, while international sales are entrusted to Versatile.
