The National Film Center (CNC) published the list of 14 filmmakers and their projects that were assigned funding under the terms of the Avances sur recettes or “box office advances” system. This year, the fund has a total of Euros 24million at its disposal.
A “college” of experts whittled down a total of 28 submissions to 8 features: Ne Quittez Pas by Arthur Joffé (Les Films du Losange), Feux rouges by Cédric Kahn (Alicéléo), Le livre à rendre by Raul Ruiz (Elzevir Films), the animated feature Azur et Asmar by Michel Ocelot, Le voyage immobile by Daoud Alouad-Syad (Mandala Productions), Un bon jour pour mourir by Rachid Bouchareb (3B Productions), and two documentaries, Salvador Allende by Patricio Guzman (JBA Production) and Par exemple, moi by Patricia Mazuy (MP Productions).

The “Box Office Advances” Fund also helps finance first films and six titles were selected out of the 27 submitted: Belhorizon by Inès Rabadan (Balthazar Productions), Rêves de poussière by Laurent Salgues (Athénaïse), Nelly by Laure Duthilleul (Ex Nihilo), La nuit de la vérité by Fanta Regina Nacro (Acrobates films), Des enfants qui s'aiment by Gilles Volta (Daventures Films), and one documentary, Darwin's Nightmare by Hubert Sauper (1001 Production).

The CNC also announced the names of those who will receive Selective Distribution Support: Le voyage de Maryam by Sepideh Farsi got Euros15.500, El Bola by Spain’s Achero Manas (produced by Tesela Producciones Cinematograficas) got Euros25,000, and Abourna by Mahamat Saleh-Haroun (produced by Duo Films and distributed by MK2 Diffusion) got Euros13,000
