A Taviani retrospective at the Sofia IFF

- Twelve films by the famous brothers will be shown during the seventeenth edition of the Bulgarian festival

The seventeenth edition of the Sofia International Film Festival (SIFF – on 7-17 March) will celebrate brothers Paolo and Vittorio Taviani with a retrospective of some of their most significant films. Twelve of their films have been chosen to be screened at the Cinema House in the Bulgarian capital: Sotto il segno dello scorpione, San Michele aveva un gallo, Allonsanfan, Padre padrone (Palme d'or in Cannes in 1977), Kaos, Good Morning Babilonia, Il sole anche di notte, Fiorile, Le affinità elettive, Tu ridi, The Lark Family [+see also:

The last one, winner of the Golden Bear in Berlin in 2012, will have an entire gala evening dedicated to it with guest-speaker Paolo Taviani, who will also collect a career award, this year given out by the festival to him and his sibling. The event is being organized by the SIFF, in collaboration with the Italian Culture Institute in Sofia.
