Cohan’s No Return wins at Cluj
The tenth Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF) in Cluj (June 3-12) featured an international competition of first or second film and the local competition within Romanian Days, a four-day showcase of new Romanian cinema.

film profile] by Miguel Cohan won the Transylvania Trophy worth €15,000 and the Best Screenplay, co-written by Cohan’s wife Ana.

The FIPRESCI jury was judging the films from the Wasted Youth section and awarded Tilva Ros [+see also:

Best Acting Award went to the French actress Elodie Bouchez for her role in Zeinna Durra’s The Imperialists Are Still Alive! and Sweden’s Linda Wassberg got the Best Cinematography Award for Linda Aschan’s She Monkeys [+see also:

While Michael York was unable to come to accept his Life Achievement Award for an Outstanding Personality of the European Cinema due to health reasons, Jacqueline Bisset was there to receive the Special Award for the Contribution to the World Cinema. Veteran Romanian director Lucian Pintilie enjoyed a complete retrospective and got the Excellence Award.
