Matteo Garrone

Matteo Garrone

Born in Rome 1968. Started working as camera assistant and painter after art school. In 1996 his short film Silhouette won a prize at the Sacher Festival (organised by Nanni Moretti).

His feature début Terra di mezzo (1997) won the prize for best film at the Turin festival Cinema Giovani. His features have been awarded at several festivals through the years.
