Thierry Michel

Was born in Charleroi, Belgium on October 13, 1952. At sixteen, he registered at Brussels’ Institut des Arts et Diffusion, where he now teaches in the film department. Since 1973, he has made numerous films all over the world for Belgian television.

Later, Michel turned to cinema and alternated between making feature films and documentaries in Brazil, Africa, and Asia (Gosses de Rio, 1990, À fleur de terre, 1990, Les derniers colons, 1995, Donka, X-Ray of an African Hospital, 1996, Mobutu, roi du Zaïre, 1999, Zaïre, le cycle du serpent, 1998).
