Helena Taberna
Screenwriter, director and producer, her first feature, Yoyes (2000), was one of the Spanish films to have bagged most international awards in the year of its release.
The documentary Extranjeras (2003) competed at the Valladolid Seminci. La buena nueva (2008) won the Audience Award at the Nantes Spanish Film Festival and Best Actor Award for Unax Ugalde at the Seminci.
In 2001, she created her own production company, Lamia, and in 2006 founded, together with other women directors, the Asociación de Mujeres Cineastas y de los Medios Audiovisuales (CIMA).
