NÉS EN 68

by Olivier Ducastel, Jacques Martineau

synopsis

This is 1968. Twenty-year-old Catherine, Yves and Hervé are students in Paris and they love each other. The May revolt completely changes their lives. Inspired by the utopian solidarity, they leave the city – along with a few friends – to go and live in an abandoned farm in the Lot region. The demand for freedom and the search for individual fulfilment lead them to make choices that drive them apart. In 1989, Catherine and Yves’ children are on the threshold of adulthood and are confronted with a world that has changed profoundly: after the fall of Communism and the outbreak of the AIDS epidemic, the militant heritage of the previous generation must be re-examined.
