synopsis

Between 1987 and 2017, Germany-based author, producer and film-maker Asteris Kutulas often accompanied the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis on his travels – and kept his video camera rolling. The resulting recordings of rehearsals, concerts, CD recordings, opera and ballet productions – mostly on tour, but also at one-off events and private meetings – comprise more than 600 hours of unseen and not published yet footage. They tell of Theodorakis’ travels and travails in a. o. Athens, Berlin, St. Petersburg, Budapest, Jerusalem, Montreal, Santiago de Chile, Vienna, Copenhagen, Melbourne, Pretoria, Malmö, Istanbul, Madrid, Zurich, Mauthausen, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Chania as well as many other locations around the globe.
