Ten Euro Directors to Watch - Karlovy Vary 2011

Ten European directors have been chosen to presenttheir latest films at the upcoming Karlovy Vary Film Festival (July 1-9) as part of the section Variety´s Ten Euro Directors to Watch.

Formally know as “Variety Critics’ Choice: Europe Now!”, the now rebaptized section is organized by the European Film Promotion and the films were chosen by the critics of the US trade paper - Cineuropa is publishing video interviews with the 10 directors.

The section's aim is to honour new European cinema and the talent behind it. During two days of events and screenings, the directors were introduced to the press, industry and public.

The selected films are:

A Quiet Life - Claudio Cupellini (Italia)

Flowers of Evil - David Dusa (France)

Turn Me On, Goddammit - Jannicke Systad Jacobsen (Norway)

The House - Zuzana Liova (Slovak Republic)

Hello! How Are You? - Alexandru Maftei (Romania)

King’s Road - Valdís Óskarsdóttir (Iceland)

Almanya - Yasemin Samdereli (Germany)

Kill List - Ben Wheatley (Regno Unito)

Oxygen - Hans Van Nuffel (Belgium)
